With a degree in Economics from McMaster University, Dan also holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, Richard Ivey School of Business, where he majored in Marketing.
Dan began his career in marketing at Gillette, where he became responsible for that company’s two largest and most profitable divisions. Next, Dan worked in senior positions at a number of adverting agencies in Toronto. Subsequently, Dan joined Petro-Canada, where he was responsible for corporate strategy, branding and marketing communications. As Director of Communications for the Olympic Torch Relay, Dan was also the strategic planner and conceptualizer of this very successful integrated consumer-marketing event.
Having established a consulting consulting practice over 20 years ago, Dan has worked with more than 60 organizations in Canada and the U.S. in 14 industries and sectors. He has vast experience in agency search, both as a Client selecting agencies and working at agencies ‘pitching’ new business, plus managing agency searches as a consultant. Overall, Dan has been involved in well over 100 agency searches.
Dan’s category expertise include: financial services, health and beauty aids, retail, hospitality, food and beverages, confectionery, automobiles, technology, petroleum / auto service, government, real estate, service operations and telecommunications.
Dan has served as a director on several boards in various positions over the years. He was most recently a board member with a medium sized printing company and a distribution company, both in southern Ontario.
